Fast VPN: how to find the fastest location for you
Ben's VPN has servers with 10 Gbps ports in more than 40 countries. Your speed depends mostly on the location you choose. Every location in the app has a speed label. The Fastest tile chooses a location near you.
4 speed labels, from 100 MBIT to 10 GBIT
The Change Location list uses 4 speed labels: 100 MBIT, 250 MBIT, 1 GBIT and 10 GBIT. Each label is the speed class of our server at that location. Use it as the first filter when you compare locations.
A label is a starting point and not a speed test result. The steps below compare locations on your own connection.
Compare 2 locations on your connection

Choose Fastest first
Open Location on the main screen and choose the Fastest tile. The app then chooses a nearby location and connects to it.

Measure your speed
Open any speed test site with the VPN connected. Note the download speed in the test result.

Try a 10 GBIT location nearby
Type the name of a nearby country into Find location and choose one with the 10 GBIT label. The VPN can remain connected during the switch. With Automatically connect when changing location ticked, the app reconnects to the new location. This box is ticked by default in the app.

Keep the faster location
The Previous tile returns you to the last location. Test both locations in turn and keep the faster one.
A slow server and the automatic protocol choice
The app shows a Bad connection banner when the connection to the current server is poor. Press Fix the problem on the banner to see the next steps. The app then offers another location or a search for a working server.
The app has no protocol setting for speed. It selects VLESS + REALITY, XHTTP, Hysteria2 or Shadowsocks automatically.

Does a label show how busy a server is right now?
No, a label is fixed and does not change with server load. The app does not run any test to show it.
I am traveling. Should I keep my usual location?
Choose Fastest again when you arrive in the new place. It selects a location near your current position. Keep the location in your home country only if you need its IP address. The route to it is longer from abroad.
Can I choose a city inside a country?
No, each country has 1 location, listed under the name of the country.
Will a VPN make my internet faster than it is?
No, your provider sets the upper limit of your speed. With a VPN, traffic also passes through our server. A nearby location keeps this extra route short.
Is there a traffic limit?
No, there is no traffic limit on any plan or on the trial.
